It’s been a memorable few days for Moors Ladies star Autumn Colledge who not only blasted a hat-trick against South Shields on Sunday but also spent the weekend driving a brand new Aston Martin!
The talented forward put the skids under rivals Shields with a clinical treble to help steer Billy Shackleton’s team safely through to the next round of the League Cup.
And she was finding top gear off the pitch too because her prowess during the 2022/23 promotion season meant she was given the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a stunning Aston Martin.
The prize, donated by Village Care and courtesy of Aston Martin Newcastle, was a reward for Colledge, who picked up the most Player of the Match awards last term as Moors clinched their place in the NERWFL Premier Division.
“We’ve become used to seeing Autumn speed past opposition defences, but nobody was able to keep up with her at the weekend!” quipped Shackleton.
“It’s a great reward for a player who excelled last season and was a vital part of our promotion to the Premier Division, so it was fantastic to see her given this opportunity.
“I want to thank Lee Walker at Village Care and Aston Martin Newcastle for providing the prize – and I am looking forward to seeing who wins the chance to get behind the wheel next year!”
Colledge’s brilliant hat-trick got Moors’ 2023/24 off to the perfect start on Sunday as they continue to build towards their opening game of the new league season at Hartlepool United on Sunday 3rd September (2pm kick-off).
