The Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Cockburn into the new role of Commercial Director.
Paul has worked very effectively for the Chairman’s group of businesses for a number of years and has most recently been working to develop a commercial strategy across all areas of the Club’s operation.
On making the appointment, Managing Director Ian Geldard said: “I am delighted to welcome Paul to the Board at a time when developing the commercial side of the Club is paramount to our ongoing success.
“This is a real statement of intent as we look to continue building towards an exciting future for Spennymoor Town.
“We are progressing quickly with plans to take the Club to the next level, whether that be on the pitch with the First Team, Ladies and Youth, or off the pitch with our hospitality offer, Moors in the Community and maintaining The Brewery Field as one of the best venues at this level of football.
“In order to deliver our ambitious plans in all of these areas, it is important that we maintain the financial sustainability of the Club.
“I know that Paul will excel in driving further growth and forging partnerships with new and key sponsors, as well as being a great support alongside our Non-Executive Directors Debra Swinburn, Tony Wilson and Bobby Taylor, in the running of the Spennymoor Town.”
Cockburn added: “It’s a real honour for me to take up the role of Commercial Director at Spennymoor Town.
“I’ve been involved for a short time and have already developed a real affinity with the Club, so I am determined to drive forward the commercial operation to help us reach our short and long-term goals.
“There are so many exciting ways we can unlock the potential of Spennymoor Town and it’s my intention to work as hard as possible to develop them all in the coming months and years.”
