Blyth Spartans v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Monday 28th August 2023, 3pm
Croft Park

The Opposition
Blyth Spartans have enjoyed a strong start to the new National League North campaign, tasting victory in three of their five outings so far.

After finishing perilously close to the bottom four last term, Graham Fenton has got his side playing some attractive football and getting results in the opening month of 2023/24.

A stunning 4-2 win over Gloucester City on the opening day was followed up by an impressive 2-0 success at newly promoted Warrington Town, while Hereford were also put to the sword at Croft Park last weekend.

A 3-0 reverse at Buxton on Saturday was a setback and now Fenton’s men will be keen to deliver a swift response when they welcome Moors to Northumberland on Bank Holiday Monday.

Previous Meeting
Moors did the double over Blyth Spartans in National League North last term, running out 3-1 winners on their last trip to Croft Park back on Boxing Day thanks to goals from Glen Taylor and Rob Ramshaw (2).

Ramshaw was also on target in the return fixture at The Brewery Field on New Year’s Day, with Reece Kendall scoring the other as Moors recovered from a goal down to win 2-1.

Team News
Jamie Chandler will hope to be able to call upon Michael Ledger for Monday’s game. The defender wasn’t risked during the victory over Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday as he recovers from a hamstring strain.

Match Officials
Helen Conley will be in the middle for Monday’s encounter at Croft Park, and she will be assisted by Stephen Beresford and Sam Bragg.
