Club Provides Anderson Injury Update

It has been confirmed that the ankle injury sustained by Mark Anderson on Bank Holiday Monday is not as serious as first feared, but the midfielder is still facing a spell on the sidelines.

Anderson was stretchered off during the early part of the second half in our game at Blyth Spartans and there were concerns that he had fractured his ankle.

The 34-year-old was taken straight to hospital for x-rays and the results have now confirmed that there is ligament damage but no fracture.

“It’s a big relief for Mark and everyone at the Club,” admitted Moors boss Jamie Chandler.

“It was a concerning sight to see him in so much pain and we really did fear the worst when he was stretchered off so it’s good news that the injury is not as serious as we first thought.

“We’ll look after Mark now and make sure he gets good treatment and advice to get him back to fitness and out on the pitch again as soon as possible.”
