Moors in the Community’s partnership with MD Ballers is going from strength to strength after they enhanced their offering with the introduction of Girls Only sessions!
The local group already offers football classes for Baby Ballers and Mini Ballers, but the addition of a Girls Only group will impact hugely on young females aiming to get involved in football for the first time.
MD Ballers have already been feeding young players into the Club’s youth structure, giving them the opportunity to compete in official matches and represent Spennymoor Town.
Now they are hoping to provide a similar platform for young girls to enjoy their football, work on their skills and become the next generation of Moors Ladies stars at The Brewery Field!
“Our partnership with MD Ballers is one we’re extremely proud of,” explained Moors’ Community Development Manager, Luke Cowie.
“They are having a direct impact on youngsters right across the area, giving them the platform to take their first steps into football.
“It’s brilliant news that they’re now adding a Girls Only group because women’s football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world and is becoming hugely popular here.
“You only have to look at the success of Moors Ladies and the crowds they are attracting to their games to know there is an appetite for it in our town.
“Now MD Ballers can help play a crucial role in giving young girls in our area the opportunity to enjoy their football and hone their skills – I can’t wait to see it develop.”
MD Ballers’ football classes are aimed at younger children aged 3-7 years. The focus is to develop fundamental movement components alongside the progression of cognitive, social and emotional skills.
Sessions are football based with elements of balance, agility, running, jumping, kicking and other core skills. Furthermore, children will develop their listening skills and improve their ability to follow instructions.
Most importantly, the focus of Baby Ballers is for the child to have fun.
