Postponed: Moors v Boston United

Saturday’s National League North fixture against Boston United has been postponed following a morning pitch inspection at The Brewery Field.

Match Referee, Thomas Wilson arrived at the stadium just after 9am on Saturday morning to carry out a preliminary inspection and the decision was subsequently taken to postpone the game.

Heavy rain over the last 48 hours has left areas of the pitch unplayable and there were concerns around the long journey our opponents were having to make with severe doubts over the fixture.

“We’re really disappointed that this decision has had to be made but we do believe it was the correct one, having considered all factors,” explained Managing Director, Ian Geldard.

“We’ve made huge strides in recent seasons in terms of the quality of our pitch and the drainage systems that have been installed on the back of significant financial investment.

“However, with Boston set to make a long trip in dubious conditions, we were not in a position to guarantee that the game could go ahead so we have taken the sensible decision to postpone now.”

All tickets already purchased for the game will remain valid for the rearranged date.

We will confirm full details for the new date as soon as possible.
