Scunthorpe United v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Tuesday 24th October 2023, 7.45pm
Glanford Park

The Opposition
It’s fair to say that it’s been a dramatic few years for fans of Scunthorpe United.

The Iron were playing their football in the Championship as recently as 2011 and were an established League One club up until 2019 before a spectacular fall from grace.

Having suffered relegation from the EFL for the first time in their history in 2021/22 and, with troubles behind the scenes continuing to rumble on, they tumbled into National League North last term.

Former Commercial Manager Michelle Harness completed a takeover of the troubled Glanford Park outfit at the beginning of the month, and it will be hoped she can help navigate the club through the challenges that lie ahead.

On the pitch, Scunthorpe have been very competitive so far this season and are sitting fifth in the table ahead of their encounter with Moors on Tuesday night.

However, with consecutive home games to come they will be hoping to get back to their very best form after tasting defeat in two of their last three outings.

Previous Meeting
Tuesday night’s game will be the first time that the two clubs have ever met in competitive action.

Team News
Lewis Dickman has no new injury worries to contend with ahead of the trip to Glanford Park, with Mark Anderson (ankle) and Michael Ledger (hamstring) now back to full fitness.
