Gloucester City v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Saturday 25th November 2023, 3pm
The TigerTurf Stadium

The Opposition
Gloucester City have struggled to find their best form during the opening part of the 2023/24 campaign and sit bottom of the National League North table ahead of Saturday’s game.

The Tigers have tasted league victory just twice so far this term and have now fallen 11 points shy of safety on the back of their worst start to a season in 78 years.

There is also some uncertainty off the pitch at The TigerTurf Stadium following the recent announcement that Chairman Patrick Chambers and Operations Director Nicky Chambers were to step down from their roles with immediate effect.

Former boss Mike Cook was reappointed to the helm in September as City looked to change their fortunes when he returned to take charge following a spell in charge of Swindon Town Women.

There was at least some joy on the pitch for Gloucester fans last weekend when they enjoyed a 3-0 win over Braintree Town to earn a place in the Third Round of the FA Trophy.

Previous Meeting
Both meetings between the sides last term went with home advantage with Moors triumphing 3-0 at The Brewery Field at the beginning of last November before losing 2-0 in the return trip in February.

Team News
James Curtis will be unavailable to Moors on Saturday as the veteran defender serves a one-game suspension following his red card in the FA Trophy defeat to Mickleover.

James Montgomery’s foot injury will be assessed ahead of the game, while Moors will also take late decisions on Rob Ramshaw (calf) and Glen Taylor (thigh).

Match Officials
Liam Corbett will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s game at The TigerTurf Stadium, and he will be assisted by Daniel Clenton and Luke Bowles.
