Preview: Moors v Buxton

We turn our attentions to the weekend’s action with our comprehensive preview of Buxton’s National League North visit to The Brewery Field.

Spennymoor Town v Buxton
National League North
Saturday 16th December 2023, 3pm
The Brewery Field

The Opposition
Buxton are looking to emerge from a tricky run of form which has seen them win just once in their last seven outings in National League North.

The Bucks were going along nicely as September turned into October, when an impressive 3-0 win at Scunthorpe United was backed-up by a solid 3-1 win at King’s Lynn Town.

However, they have won just twice since then and picked up nothing from any of their away games since to find themselves sitting 18th in the table ahead of their weekend visit to The Brewery Field.

Previous Meeting
Moors became the first team in over eight months to win at Buxton when goals from Rob Ramshaw and Will Harris secured a 2-0 triumph there back in September.

It was a good way for Moors to take some revenge on The Bucks, who did the National League North double over them during the 2022/23 campaign.

Team News
Rob Ramshaw (calf) and Glen Taylor (thigh) should both return to contention for Saturday’s game against Buxton following a period of rest over recent weeks.

James Curtis is also available for selection once again after missing the trip to Gloucester City through suspension following his red card against Mickleover.

Match Officials
Lewis Dawson will be the man in charge for Saturday’s game against Buxton, and he will be assisted by Mark Bell and Samuel Bragg.

Dawson’s last visit to The Brewery Field came back in August, when he oversaw our 1-0 National League North win over Bishop’s Stortford.
