There was another afternoon of festive cheer at The Brewery Field on Wednesday afternoon as Moors in the Community hosted its Christmas Dinner party.
Every year, Moors in the Community throws a big Christmas bash in the Sports Bar and invites all those who play their part in the delivery and those that benefit from the wide-ranging projects across the town and wider area.
There was another fantastic turnout on Wednesday and the 70 guests made up of those involved with Walking Football, Breakfast Buddies, Spennymoor Community Centre Women’s Group and our superb Community Meals Programme.
Volunteers and staff from the Club then dished up a delicious Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings which was followed by a tasty chocolate fudge cake.
Not only were those in attendance at the event able to enjoy a wonderful meal in a warm and friendly atmosphere, Moors in the Community also ensured that a further 20 people benefitted from free delivery of meals to their door.
“It was a fantastic, heart-warming afternoon,” said Luke Cowie, the Club’s Community Development Manager.
“All through the year these people come together as part of the various projects we facilitate across the local area and it’s always brilliant to see them in a room as one enjoying a Christmas celebration.
“I want to thank everyone for coming along, all those who volunteered on the day and, of course, Spennymoor Town Band who once again got everyone in the spirit with their brilliant music.
“It’s a lovely way to really kick-off the Christmas celebration and I hope everyone who came along had a wonderful time.”
