Preview: Hereford v Moors

We turn our attentions to the weekend’s action with a full and in-depth preview of Moors’ National League North trip to Edgar Street.

Hereford v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Saturday 23rd December 2023, 3pm
Edgar Street

The Opposition
Hereford are up to fifth in the National League North table on the back of a consistent run of form which has seen them win three of their last four league games.

The Bulls had a difficult run of losses at the end of August but have hit back to enjoy an encouraging first half to 2023/24 and they will go into the New Year as genuine promotion contenders.

Paul Caddis arrived to take charge during the summer and looks well on course to oversee real progress at Edgar Street after The Bulls finished down in 16th last term.

Their home form has been the bedrock for their impressive campaign to date having tasted victory in eight of their 11 outings on their own patch so far, though Scunthorpe did thrash them 5-1 there at the beginning of the month.

Previous Meeting
Moors ran out 2-0 winners when Hereford visited The Brewery Field back in September as goals from Josh Popoola and Will Harris secured three points.

The last time the two sides did battle at Edgar Street was on the opening day of last season and it turned into a bit of a classic as the points were shared at the end of a 3-3 draw.

Team News
Rob Ramshaw won’t be available to Lewis Dickman this weekend as he serves a one-game suspension following his red card in the game against Buxton.

Match Officials
Niall Smith will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s game at Hereford, and he will be assisted by Alex Rolfe and Craig Thompson.

Smith last took charge of a Moors fixture when we made the long trip to take on King’s Lynn Town in March when we were beaten 3-0.

Tickets
Moors fans can make a saving by buying their tickets in advance online for Saturday’s National League North game at Edgar Street.

Supporters are strongly encouraged to purchase in advance as there will be no cash turnstiles in operation and The Bulls’ Ticket Office is at the opposite side of the stadium to the away section.
