Preview: Moors v Chorley

We turn our attentions to the Boxing Day action with our comprehensive preview of Chorley’s National League North visit to The Brewery Field.

Spennymoor Town v Chorley
National League North
Tuesday 26th December 2023, 3pm
The Brewery Field

The Opposition
Chorley have stormed up to third in the National League North table on the back of a run of form which has seen them win three out of their last four outings.

A 4-0 hammering of Curzon Ashton at the weekend boosted confidence further in The Magpies squad and they have now tasted defeat just once in their previous 11 games in all competitions.

Having finished in the middle ground last year, Andy Preece looks on course to oversee real progress at Victory Park and they have now fully emerged as genuine contenders for promotion.

Previous Meeting
Last season’s encounters with The Magpies both went with home advantage as Moors were beaten 2-0 at Victory Park in November 2022 before running out 2-1 winners at The Brewery Field in March.

Team News
Rob Ramshaw will return to contention for the Boxing Day fixture after being forced to sit out the trip to Hereford on Saturday through suspension.

James Curtis will also be assessed but Owen Gallacher is likely to miss out after injuring his shoulder against The Bulls.

Match Officials
David Jones will be the man in the middle for our National League North encounter with Chorley, and he will be assisted by Karl Parker and Scott Henry.
