We turn our attentions to the Boxing Day action with our comprehensive preview of Chorley’s National League North visit to The Brewery Field.
Spennymoor Town v Chorley
National League North
Tuesday 26th December 2023, 3pm
The Brewery Field
Chorley have stormed up to third in the National League North table on the back of a run of form which has seen them win three out of their last four outings.
A 4-0 hammering of Curzon Ashton at the weekend boosted confidence further in The Magpies squad and they have now tasted defeat just once in their previous 11 games in all competitions.
Having finished in the middle ground last year, Andy Preece looks on course to oversee real progress at Victory Park and they have now fully emerged as genuine contenders for promotion.
Last season’s encounters with The Magpies both went with home advantage as Moors were beaten 2-0 at Victory Park in November 2022 before running out 2-1 winners at The Brewery Field in March.
Rob Ramshaw will return to contention for the Boxing Day fixture after being forced to sit out the trip to Hereford on Saturday through suspension.
James Curtis will also be assessed but Owen Gallacher is likely to miss out after injuring his shoulder against The Bulls.
David Jones will be the man in the middle for our National League North encounter with Chorley, and he will be assisted by Karl Parker and Scott Henry.
Home and away fans can buy tickets in advance online for Saturday’s game, while they will also be able to pay by cash or card direct on the turnstiles prior to kick-off.
We’re delighted to confirm that the Boxing Day game will be streamed live online with fans in this country and abroad able to access live footage direct from The Brewery Field.
If you sign-up to enjoy the live feed, make sure you select ‘Spennymoor Town’ as your favourite club to ensure we get the financial benefit from your purchase.
If you can’t get along to The Brewery Field on Boxing Day, then remember that you can also enjoy full live commentary of the game against Buxton on Durham OnAir.
Mark Simpson will be live from 2.50pm to set the scene and then describe all the action as it unfolds – and there are multiple ways to access the coverage too.
Chorley have been installed as favourites for three points on Boxing Day at a price of 21/20, while Moors can be backed at odds of 21/10 and the draw is rated a 5/2 shot by the bookies.
