Spennymoor Town v Scarborough Athletic
National League North
Tuesday 9th January 2024, 7.45pm
The Brewery Field

The Opposition
Scarborough Athletic have driven themselves right up to third place in National League North on the back of an eye-catching run of form over Christmas and into the New Year.

Jonathan Greening’s men arrive at The Brewery Field high on confidence having won five successive league games to underline their credentials as serious promotion contenders.

The Seadogs were only promoted to the sixth tier in 2022 but they came close to snatching a play-off spot in their first season at the level and look right in the mix again this time around.

Their home form has been at the heart of their impressive campaign with Athletic having won 10 of their 13 league outings at The Flamingo Land Stadium.

Previous Meeting
Both games between the sides in National League North last term finished in 2-2 draws.

Moors came from two goals down to take a point at The Flamingo Land Stadium, before Connor Shanks last minute goal earned a draw when The Seadogs made the journey to County Durham.

Team News
Glen Taylor is nursing a knee injury which has kept him out of recent games but Connor Shanks is now back at the Club and available after spending two months on loan at Bradford (Park Avenue).

Match Officials
Shaun Taylor has been appointed as the referee for Tuesday evening’s encounter at The Brewery Field, and he will be assisted by Joe Moss and Liam Smith.
