We turn our attentions to Tuesday evening’s action with our comprehensive preview of Scarborough Athletic’s National League North visit to The Brewery Field.
Spennymoor Town v Scarborough Athletic
National League North
Tuesday 9th January 2024, 7.45pm
The Brewery Field
Scarborough Athletic have driven themselves right up to third place in National League North on the back of an eye-catching run of form over Christmas and into the New Year.
Jonathan Greening’s men arrive at The Brewery Field high on confidence having won five successive league games to underline their credentials as serious promotion contenders.
The Seadogs were only promoted to the sixth tier in 2022 but they came close to snatching a play-off spot in their first season at the level and look right in the mix again this time around.
Their home form has been at the heart of their impressive campaign with Athletic having won 10 of their 13 league outings at The Flamingo Land Stadium.
Both games between the sides in National League North last term finished in 2-2 draws.
Moors came from two goals down to take a point at The Flamingo Land Stadium, before Connor Shanks last minute goal earned a draw when The Seadogs made the journey to County Durham.
Glen Taylor is nursing a knee injury which has kept him out of recent games but Connor Shanks is now back at the Club and available after spending two months on loan at Bradford (Park Avenue).
Shaun Taylor has been appointed as the referee for Tuesday evening’s encounter at The Brewery Field, and he will be assisted by Joe Moss and Liam Smith.
Tuesday night’s game against Scarborough Athletic is segregated.
Both sets of supporters can buy tickets online in advance, but Scarborough supporters must enter via Turnstiles 1 and 2 on the Tees Crescent side of the stadium.
We’re delighted to confirm that Tuesday evening’s game will be streamed live online with fans in this country and abroad able to access live footage direct from The Brewery Field.
If you sign-up to enjoy the live feed, make sure you select ‘Spennymoor Town’ as your favourite club to ensure we get the financial benefit from your purchase.
Fans everywhere can also enjoy live audio commentary of the game by joining our continuing and popular coverage on Durham OnAir.
Mark Simpson will be live from 7.35pm on Tuesday to set the scene and then describe all the action as it unfolds – and there are multiple ways to access the coverage too.
Scarborough Athletic have been installed as 23/10 favourites for three points on Tuesday, while Moors are rated a 2/1 shot for victory and a draw is priced up at 23/10 with the bookies.
