Moors Ladies have moved to sign young midfielder Lauren Gray to further bolster their ranks ahead of the second half of the NERWFL Premier Division campaign.
The 18-year-old has experience from being on the books at both Teesside RTC and Hartlepool United but has now made a switch to The Brewery Field.
Gray has worked with Moors management team Billy Shackleton and Brent Smithson during their time at Hartlepool and is looking forward to being reunited.
“I see this is as a great opportunity for me to develop as a player and I am delighted to be joining the Club,” she explained.
“I’ve been coached by Billy and Brent previously so they understand me as a person and a player, and I know they will be able to bring the best out in my game.
“I know the Club has some fantastic supporters – I saw that when I played against them for another team – and there will be an expectation of hard work and commitment which is exactly what they will get from me.
“We’ve had a strong start to the season, and I would like to help that Club continue that progress so hopefully I can chip in with a few goals and assists along the way.”
Boss Shackleton is equally pleased with the news and is excited to add Gray to his squad as Moors look to continue challenging at the top end of the table.
“Lauren is a player I know really well, and I know that Brent and I can push her to react the next level of her game,” he told us.
“It’s no secret that we have struggled with injuries at times this season so adding a player of Lauren’s quality just gives further options and depth.”
