Graeme Lee has completed his first signing since being appointed as Moors boss by securing the services of talented young defender Dan Myers.
The 22-year-old has followed Lee to The Brewery Field from Marske United where had been one of the star performers this season having joined The Seasiders from Newton Aycliffe in the summer.
Myers, a former Moors Under-18s player, caught the eye during an impressive stint at Aycliffe where he was Player of the Year in 2022/23 as The Newtonians won Northern League Division One.
Comfortable in the centre of defence or at left-back, Myers had his Marske contract cancelled earlier this week and new Moors boss Graeme Lee wasted no time securing his signature.
“I am really pleased we’ve got Dan signed up,” Lee told us.
“I signed Dan in the summer for Marske and his performances week in and week out were fantastic so I know he will come in and add to our squad, both on and off the pitch.
“He’s a very good defender, first and foremost, but he’s also an asset when we have possession because he has the ability to get forward and help to create opportunities.
“To add to that, he’s also a great lad who is always keen to learn and improve so hopefully we can help him do that at The Brewery Field.”
Myers has been handed squad number 15 and will go into contention for a Moors debut in Saturday’s National League North fixture at Rushall Olympic.
