Moors Sign Jordy Mongoy On Loan

Graeme Lee has made a further transfer breakthrough with confirmation that talented front man Jordy Mongoy has joined the Club on loan from South Shields for the rest of the season.

Moors boss Lee has been working hard alongside Head of Football Jason Ainsley to add depth to the squad’s attacking options and Mongoy arrives from Shields with an impressive track record.

The versatile 24-year-old has the ability to play as a central striker or in a wider position, where is pace can unsettle opposition defences and create opportunities for himself and his teammates.

A former Dagenham & Redbridge trainee, Mongoy has also played for Lewes, Bognor Regis and Wealdstone but completed a permanent switch to The Mariners in December 2022 following an impressive loan spell at the club.

The highly rated forward has hit the net three times for Shields so far this season, including the winner against league-leaders Tamworth in November.

Mongoy, who will remain with Moors until the end of the current National League North campaign, is Lee’s third new signing this week following the arrivals of Dan Myers and Donald Chimalilo.

He has been handed squad number 25 and he will go straight into contention to make his Moors debut in Saturday’s fixture against Rushall Olympic at Dales Lane.
