Moors were beaten on the road as Tamworth consolidated their position at the top of National League North with a 2-0 victory at The Lamb Ground.
Dan Creaney put the hosts in front just before half time and then danger man Ben Acquaye made the points safe fifteen minutes from time to help The Lambs to a tenth win in their last twelve outings.
Moors boss Graeme Lee handed a debut to David Moyo after he joined the Club on loan from Chorley during the week, while Ben Pollock was restored to the heart of defence.
However, it was Tamworth who looked the more likely in the early stages and caused plenty of problems with Tom Tonks long throw-ins from both sides.
Creaney and centre-back Jordan Cullinane-Liburd both nodded efforts just off target following Tonks launches from the touchline, while Creaney also wastefully headed over from ten yards after great work from Cullinane-Liburd on the right.
At the other end, Jordy Mongoy had a sight of goal when he ghosted in at the front post in an attempt to meet Reece Staunton’s cross from the left, but the front man couldn’t apply the right touch and the home side survived.
Tamworth had a half chance when a long free-kick into the area dropped loose for Kyle Finn but his attempted lob dropped wide, before Creaney fired over following another bout of pinball in the Moors box.
However, the league-leaders broke through on 41 minutes. A corner was whipped into the front post from the left and Creaney found the perfect glancing touch to direct it past James Montgomery and give Tamworth a half time lead.
Moors got on the front foot at the start of the second half and Jordy Mongoy fired over following a good piece of play between he and Rob Ramshaw.
Tamworth continued to pose a threat though and Tonks saw an effort from the edge of the area held by Montgomery before the Moors keeper had to then spring to his right to paw a Nathan Tshikuna drive round the post.
Moors tried to gain some impetus by introducing Donald Chimalilo and Will Harris from the bench but the game was up on 75 minutes when Acquaye scampered clean through on goal to coolly slot home the hosts’ second goal.
Harris could have pulled one back in the final minute when Chimililo slipped him in on the right of the area, but the forward slammed his effort wide from a tight angle.
