Shrimpton Joins On Loan From Scunthorpe

Moors have further bolstered their midfield options with the signing of Scunthorpe United youngster Finley Shrimpton on a one-month loan deal.

The 21-year-old has been on the books at Glanford Park since he was an Under-16 when he joined The Iron after spending time previously in Barnsley’s Academy.

Shrimpton was a regular in Scunthorpe’s Youth Team during his scholarship with the Club and he also broke into the Under-23 side before putting pen to paper on his first professional deal.

Comfortable and composed in possession, the young schemer gained senior experience with a successful loan spell at Frickley Athletic where his performances earned several Man of the Match awards.

Further loans with Grantham Town and Cleethorpes Town followed before he then returned to Scunthorpe where he was rewarded with his First Team debut.

Shrimpton has made 16 senior appearances for The Iron this term, scoring in the National League North victories over Scarborough Athletic and Farsley Celtic.

In total he has now played 38 times in all competitions for Scunthorpe and now boss Jimmy Dean has given him the green light to get further regular football under his belt with Moors.

Shrimpton has been handed squad number 35 and will be in contention to make his debut for Moors in Saturday’s home game against Blyth Spartans, subject to FA approval.
