Moors Ladies Complete McIntosh Signing

Moors Ladies have moved to strengthen their squad for the run-in following the arrival of versatile defender Lucy McIntosh from Chester-le-Street Town.

McIntosh brings good experience to the camp having played in the National League for Chester-le-Street and Hull City and will play a big role during the closing months of the campaign.

Having been impressed when McIntosh played against Moors in the FA Cup earlier this season, Shackleton is delighted to have brought her to The Brewery Field.

“Lucy is a good player who can operate anywhere across the back line,” he explained.

“We needed a bit more depth in defence going into the last few months of the season and when the opportunity arose to bring Lucy in, it was something we were keen to do.”

McIntosh will go straight into contention to make her debut for Moors Ladies when they entertain Harrogate Town at New Ferens Park this coming Sunday.

“I am really excited to be joining Spennymoor,” McIntosh added.

“They’re a club that are on the rise and they were very competitive against us in the FA Cup when I was at Chester-le-Street.

“There’s a good fanbase here so I am looking forward to getting involved on the pitch as soon as possible.”
