Moors Ladies are back on home soil again this Sunday when they take on Harrogate Town in the NERWFL Premier Division at New Ferens Park (2pm kick-off).
Billy Shackleton’s side sit sixth in the table but are within striking distance of the teams above them and will hope to put further pressure on them with another three points this weekend.
A 5-2 thrashing of bottom club Hartlepool United has further boosted confidence in the Moors squad, which was bolstered by the arrival of experienced defender Lucy McIntosh this week.
Harrogate lie second-bottom in the Premier Division table ahead of Sunday’s encounter, which is the first time the two sides have met in the league this term.
“Harrogate Town are a team capable of getting results,” Shackleton warned.
“I feel like I say it every week, but every team in this division is a difficult opponent and on the right day anyone can get the better of anyone.
“We are at home on Sunday, we have a strong squad available, and I am confident we can get the result we want – but no fixture is ever a foregone conclusion.”
Shackleton will be without Meg Foster and Julia McGovern for Sunday’s game, while it looks likely that skipper Alex Saunders and midfielder Becca Drinkald will also be unavailable.
However, Abi Kisby is set to return to contention this weekend after missing the Hartlepool win and Brodie Grayson is also available for selection once again.
Sunday’s game at New Ferens Park is a 2pm kick-off and admission prices are just £3 for adults and free for all those under 12.
