Spennymoor Town v Scunthorpe United
National League North
Tuesday 26th March 2024, 7.45pm
The Brewery Field

The Opposition
Scunthorpe United sit second in the National League North table and arrive in County Durham on Tuesday evening looking to cut the gap on runaway leaders Tamworth.

The Iron lie 11 points behind The Lambs with just a month of the campaign remaining so they must make the most of their game in hand at The Brewery Field to keep alive their title hopes.

Jimmy Dean’s men have showed signs of getting back to their very best in recent weeks and come into their clash with Moors on the back of three successive victories.

A shock 4-0 thumping at Darlington at the beginning of the month has drawn a defiant reaction from the Lincolnshire outfit, who enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 win at Warrington Town over the weekend.

Previous Meeting
It was a night to forget when Moors made the trip to Glanford Park in October as The Iron turned on the style to thump home six unanswered goals to enjoy their biggest victory of the season.

Team News
John Lufudu is set to return to contention for Tuesday evening’s game after the defender completed a two-game suspension incurred by reaching 10 yellow cards for the season.

Front man Glen Taylor pressed his claims for a recall to the starting eleven when he came off the bench to score on Saturday after returning from knee surgery recently.

Match Officials
Shaun Taylor will be the man in the middle for Tuesday evening’s encounter at The Brewery Field, and he will be assisted by Mark Bell and David Fittes.
