James Montgomery Makes Moors Departure

James Montgomery has now left Spennymoor Town after it was agreed to cancel his contact with the Club by mutual consent.

The experienced goalkeeper joined Moors in the summer following his departure from National League side Gateshead and he went on to make 28 appearances in all competitions.

However, following the arrival of Brad James last month, Montgomery found himself out of the side and was subsequently allowed to rejoin Gateshead on loan.

Following the expiry of that loan at the weekend, the 29-year-old held talks with the Club, and it’s now been mutually agreed that his registration with Moors is cancelled.

“Monty has been nothing but professional during all his time at the Club and he understood the situation,” explained Moors boss Graeme Lee.

“At his stage of his career, he understandably wants to be playing regular football, so we don’t want to stand in his way when it comes to that.

“I would like to thank him for his efforts and commitment during his time at The Brewery Field and wish him every success in the future.”
