South Shields v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Friday 29th March 2024, 3pm
1st Cloud Arena

The Opposition
A clash between two local rivals at 1st Cloud Arena on Good Friday was always likely to have a little extra edge – but the fixture is set up perfectly with both sides enjoying fantastic runs of form.

South Shields have won their last four games to storm back into National League North’s top seven, a sequence made even more impressive when you consider that three of the four matches were away from home.

Elliott Dickman was given the nod to take over at the helm following the departure of Julio Arca at the end of December and he’s looking to spearhead a challenge for a second successive promotion.

Both sides will know that Good Friday’s game could prove pivotal for their respective play-off ambitions, with Shields sitting sixth in the table and just a single point above eighth placed Moors.

Previous Meeting
South Shields enjoyed a big victory when the sides met at The Brewery Field earlier in the season as former Moors front man Paul Blackett grabbed a hat-trick in a 5-2 triumph.

Team News
Finley Shrimpton will return to contention to face South Shields on Friday after he was forced to sit out the midweek win over Scunthorpe United due to the terms of his loan from The Iron.

Match Officials
Declan Brown will be the man in the middle for Good Friday’s encounter at 1st Cloud Arena, and he will be assisted by Martin Parker and Michael Trevethan.

Tickets
Moors fans must buy their tickets in advance for the fixture with online sales ending at 12noon on Good Friday, after which no further tickets will be available.
