Ladies Game Moved To New Ferens Park

Moors Ladies’ crucial NERWFL Premier Division fixture against Wakefield on Sunday will now take place at New Ferens Park (2pm kick-off).

The game had been due to be staged at The Brewery Field but concerns over poor weather in the build-up to the weekend has led to boss Billy Shackleton deciding to make a venue switch.

“It’s an important game for us and we want to make sure we get it played,” explained Shackleton.

“Of course, we absolutely love playing at The Brewery Field but the way the weather has been we have to understand that there would be big doubts about the game going ahead on Sunday.

“Having spoken to my staff and players, and discussed the situation with those at the Club, I felt that the best thing to do was move the game to New Ferens Park where the artificial surface will protect our chances of getting it played.

“The last thing we want at this stage of our season is to be losing games to the weather because we’re keen to keep the pressure on the teams around us, so hopefully we can do that on Sunday.

“It’s disappointing not to be playing at The Brewery Field but we know we can rely on the support of our fans wherever our games are and there’ll be other opportunities to play on the main pitch in the future.”

Entry at New Ferens Park on Sunday will be £3 for adults and completely free for all those under 12. Supporters who have already purchased tickets online are reassured that these remain valid for the new venue.
