Preview: Moors v Banbury United

We turn our attentions to Thursday’s action with a full and in-depth preview of Banbury United’s National League North visit to The Brewery Field.

Spennymoor Town v Banbury United
National League North
Thursday 11th April 2024, 7.45pm
The Brewery Field

The Opposition
Banbury United arrive in County Durham on Thursday evening knowing that anything less than a victory at The Brewery Field will confirm their relegation from National League North.

This is The Puritans’ second season at this level, but they have not tasted victory since the end of January when they beat Darlington and find themselves 12 points adrift of safety with four to play.

Kevin Wilson’s side did at least end a damaging run of 11 consecutive defeats with a 1-1 draw at home to King’s Lynn Town at the weekend and now they will be hoping to build on that.

Previous Meeting
Moors kicked off the 2023/24 season in fine style with an opening day 3-0 win over Banbury United at The Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium.

The August contest was decided by three second half goals as Glen Taylor scored twice either side of Danny Greenfield’s close-range finish to ensure a flying start for the team.

Team News
Graeme Lee has no new injury concerns ahead of the meeting with Banbury United but will check on the fitness of Glen Taylor who has been missing through injury in recent games.

Match Officials
Lewis Dawson will take charge of Thursday evening’s contest at The Brewery Field, and he will be assisted by Matthew Morton and Thomas Maher.
