The Club has sent a thank you to Paving Supplies Northern, after they played a key role in helping us ensure that Thursday night’s fixture at The Brewery Field could go ahead.
Moors were facing a fixture backlog had the game against Banbury United not been played, after heavy rain over the past week forced its initial postponement on Tuesday.
However, incredible work by Head Groundsman Mark Sleightholme alongside volunteers meant that Graeme Lee’s men did get to play – and picked up a crucial three points with a 5-2 victory.
Paving Supplies Northern’s generosity was also a huge factor after they supplied the Club with two tonnes of sharp sand to assist with the drainage issues and ensure the pitch was playable.
As well as helping out on Thursday, Paving Supplies Northern have recently agreed a deal to become sponsors of our new Moors Ladies Development Programme.
“I can’t thank Greg Francis and his team at Paving Supplies Northern enough,” said Moors Managing Director, Ian Geldard.
“It was essential that we were able to play that game on Thursday night and the help they provided us with was invaluable in making that happen.
“Their support of the Club with that was fantastic and I am delighted that they are also coming on board as key sponsors of our Ladies Development Programme.
“We’re really excited at the prospect of giving even more aspiring female footballers the chance to flourish in Spennymoor and Paving Supplies Northern’s backing gives us a platform for success on that front too.”
