We turn the focus on Saturday’s action with a full and in-depth preview of Moors’ National League North visit to The Impact Arena.

Alfreton Town v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Saturday 13th April 2024, 3pm
The Impact Arena

The Opposition
Alfreton Town took a big stride towards securing their play-off place when they thumped Gloucester City 3-0 on home soil on Tuesday night to extend their unbeaten run to four games.

The Reds have won three of their last four, recovering well from their 1-0 defeat at Brackley Town at the end of March – one of only two losses in their previous eight outings.

Billy Heath’s men know that another three points against Moors this weekend would pretty much guarantee a top seven finish at the end of what has been a memorable campaign.

Town have not only been competitive in National League North, but they also enjoyed a wonderful FA Cup run which saw them make it to the Second Round before being beaten by Walsall.

Now their focus is firmly on the league and they will be aiming to go one better than they did last term, when they were knocked out of the play-offs by Kidderminster Harriers at the semi-final stage.

Previous Meeting
Moors recovered from the concession of an early goal to run out 2-1 winners when Alfreton Town made the trip to The Brewery Field at the beginning of last month.

The Reds were in front on seven minutes through Dwayne Wiley, but Graeme Lee’s men levelled just before half through when Will Harris scored before Danny Greenfield snatched a winner on the hour.

Team News
John Lufudu was forced to sit out Thursday’s game through injury and the defender will have his fitness assessed ahead of the weekend trip to Alfreton Town.

Match Officials
Tom Ellsmore will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s big game at The Impact Arena, and he will be assisted by Wayne Gray and Martin Chester.
