Fans Asked For Views On Funding Plan

As one of the biggest community and business organisations in the town, Spennymoor Town FC is proud to have been invited to contribute to the Long-Term Plan for Towns Programme.

The Club’s Managing Director, Ian Geldard, is to take up a seat on the newly formed Spennymoor Town Board, which will decide how to spend £20million of Government funding earmarked to develop the town over the next 10 years.

Spennymoor has been selected by the Government to be part of the LTPT Programme, which provides money to support local priority activities focused on reviving high streets, tackling anti-social behaviour, improving transport and growing the local economy.

As part of the consultation process, Moors fans are being given the opportunity to share their views when they attend Saturday’s fixture against King’s Lynn Town at The Brewery Field.

“The basis of the LTPT Programme is that local people are placed at the heart of the decision-making around what the town’s priorities are,” explained Geldard.

“We’re really pleased that Moors supporters are going to get the chance to air their views and I would encourage as many as possible to get online and share their thoughts to help shape the impending enhancements across the town.

“By gaining a better understanding of what people and communities feel about the town, the Town Board can move forward and design a town plan that will bring about the biggest difference and deliver long-term success for Spennymoor.”

At Saturday’s game, a QR code will be made available to all attendees to access the consultation website where they can register views and see further information on future consultation events.
