Reece Staunton was the big winner at Moors’ End of Season Awards presentation on Saturday as the defender picked up all three major prizes following an impressive debut season.
The 22-year-old joined the Club from Bradford (Park Avenue) last summer and has been outstanding throughout 2023/24, slotting in on the left side of a three or at left-back.
Staunton has made 45 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and his performances earned him a triple of prestigious awards at the weekend.
The defender scooped Players’ Player of the Year and Fans’ Player of the Year and was also chosen by the Management Staff as their Player of the Year.
Glen Taylor was rewarded with the Golden Boot after once again top scoring this season; the legendary marksman made sure of the award after scoring his 17th of the campaign in the 3-0 win over King’s Lynn Town on Saturday. Taylor also picked up a framed shirt to mark his 350th appearance for the Club.
Corey McKeown also got his hands on some silverware as fans decided that his stunning strike in the win at Boston United at the beginning of March was Moors’ Goal of the Season for 2023/24.
Meanwhile, the Supporters’ Club handed out their Connie Wales & Fred Hughes Memorial Trophy, presented to centre-back Lebrun Mbeka by Kenny Hughes.
The final part of the post-match ceremony on the pitch centred around James Curtis as he was presented with a framed shirt and a signed match ball to mark his retirement after almost 300 games for Moors and nearly 1,000 non-league appearances.
