Moors Under-18s Ready For Cup Final

It’s a big weekend for Moors’ U18s Knights as they take on Gateshead FC Performance U18s in the Durham County Youth Cup Final at Eppleton CW on Saturday (12noon kick-off).

Stewart Beattie’s youngsters have enjoyed a magnificent run in the competition and now they’re just one game away from getting their hands on silverware to crown a memorable season.

“I’m incredibly proud of each and every one of them for reaching the cup final,” admitted Beattie.

“They have shown their tremendous ability but also commitment and dedication throughout the season and I think this Saturday’s game is a fantastic reward for their efforts.

“We know that Gateshead have a very talented side too, so we can expect a tough challenge this weekend if we want to get our hands on the trophy.

“However, I have full faith in this group and their ability to perform to the high standards they have set during the cup run on the big day.

“We’re all just really looking forward to getting going and having this brilliant opportunity to bring the cup back to Spennymoor.”

Moors fans can get along to the Hetton Sports Centre at Eppleton Colliery Welfare on Saturday to support the team, with admission just £2 for adults and £1 for concessions. Fans are advised that it is not permitted to take alcohol into the stadium.
