Graeme Lee Agrees New Moors Deal

The Club is delighted to confirm that Graeme Lee has agreed a new deal to remain as Spennymoor Town Manager for the 2024/25 National League North campaign.

Lee will continue in the dugout into the new season, with Ian Clark remaining as Assistant Manager and Dan Wilson continuing in his role as Goalkeeper Coach and Analyst.

It was back in January when Lee first arrived at the Club, admitting his sense of pride as he followed in the footsteps of his late father Tony who managed Moors in the early-2000s.

Having made over 500 senior appearances as a player, Lee cut his teeth in management with promising stints at Hartlepool United and Marske United before succeeding Lewis Dickman at Moors.

Having taken time to assess the squad and implement his methods, Lee’s impact soon became clear, and the team embarked on an astonishing run of form which transformed them from relegation candidates to genuine play-off contenders.

Moors went on to taste victory in some 13 of their last 18 games of last season, including seven wins in a row at one stage, as Lee claimed back-to-back Manager of the Month awards in February and March.

A remarkable sequence of nine straight home wins culminated in Moors coming within a single point of finishing inside the top seven and saw real belief grow among the squad and on the terraces.

Now Lee will reshape his squad during the summer and look to build on the huge amount of momentum created when he leads the side into 2024/25.

“We’re absolutely thrilled that Graeme and his management team will remain in charge into the new season,” said the Club’s Managing Director, Ian Geldard.

“It became very clear very quickly that Graeme is a perfect fit for this Football Club and the results he achieved last season in such a short space of time were nothing short of incredible.

“His team gave us so many fantastic moments during the last few months of last season and he’s got everyone believing that the future can be very bright.

“Our job now is to make sure he has got all the tools he needs to build on that momentum created and continue the excellent progress we’ve seen during his time in charge so far.”
