Moors winger Corey McKeown has committed his future to the Club after signing a new contract to remain at The Brewery Field into the 2024/25 campaign.
McKeown joined Moors in November 2022 when the Club paid an undisclosed fee to Blyth Spartans, and he has gone on to make 63 appearances in all competitions.
The skilful midfielder was one of the star performers during the second half of last season when he produced some of his best football under the watch of new boss Graeme Lee.
McKeown underlined his importance to the team with some crucial goals, scoring in spectacular fashion against former club Blyth and then netting decisively in the 1-0 win over Scunthorpe United.
His incredible curling strike into the top corner during the 2-1 win at Boston United at the beginning of March was deservedly crowned as the Club’s Goal of the Season for 2023/24.
Lee was keen to tie down the talented 22-year-old to a new deal and now terms have been agreed to extend McKeown’s stay into the fresh campaign.
“We’re delighted to get a deal done to extend Corey’s time with us,” said Moors boss Lee.
“He has developed into a really important player for the team, and he was outstanding during the time we were in charge last season.
“Not only does he have that trickery and the ability to go past players, but he has also started adding goals to his game more regularly and that makes him very exciting to watch.
“Corey is obviously still a very young player, but he’s shown how much potential he has to get even better so we’re all looking forward to working with him again next season and looking forward to seeing him have an even bigger impact.”
