Graeme Lee has bolstered his squad further ahead of next season after highly rated midfielder John Howard agreed a move to The Brewery Field following his departure from Bishop Auckland.
The 22-year-old schemer was an important part of Bishops’ title-winning success last term as they topped the Northern League to win promotion to the Northern Premier League.
A no-nonsense competitor, Howard came through the ranks at Middlesbrough’s famed Academy before starring in the Northern League following his release from The Riverside.
The tough-tackling youngster made a big impression whilst in the colours of Northallerton Town in 2022/23 and his performances earned him a move to Bishop Auckland last summer.
“I have watched John play a number of times in recent years and he’s always been a player that has stood out to me,” explained Moors boss Lee.
“He was in the youth ranks at Middlesbrough when I was there; I felt like he was a bit unlucky with an injury at the time which hampered his progress there.
“However, I have kept an eye on him, and he’s got good energy, a real competitive edge and he can play as well so I am looking forward to working to develop that in the new season.”
Howard becomes Moors’ fourth signing of the summer, following in the footsteps of Bishops’ teammate Dane Burlace and Whitby Town duo Junior Mondal and Dan Rowe.
