Ben Beals Agrees Spennymoor Town Move

Ben Beals has become the fifth new arrival at The Brewery Field this summer after the young defender agreed terms on a move to Moors following his release from Middlesbrough.

The 20-year-old centre-back has been on the books at The Riverside Stadium since he was just 9 and has progressed through the ranks to become a part of the Boro’s Under-21s side.

A committed and composed defender, Middlesbrough-born Beals enhanced his senior experience during a loan spell at Northern Premier League outfit Whitby Town in the latter part of last term.

The youngster has also previously played under Moors management team Graeme Lee and Ian Clark when he spent time on loan at Marske United during the earlier part of 2023/24.

“Ben is a talented defender and I’m delighted he’s chosen to come to the Club,” said Lee.

“I worked with him when I was a coach in the Academy at Middlesbrough, and he did fantastically well to progress through the system so I have always kept an eye on him.

“When I got the chance to take him to Marske last season I jumped at it and he was superb for us, so I am pleased we now have the opportunity to bring him to Spennymoor as our own player.

“Not only has he got good ability, a big heart and a real determination, Ben also has a great attitude and willingness to learn which is going to be key in this next stage of his career.

“I am very much looking forward to working with him again in the coming season and I am excited to see how far he can develop when he’s playing regular senior football.”
