Moors ran out comfortable winners in their latest pre-season friendly outing after putting five goals past Consett at Belle View Stadium on Saturday.
Glen Taylor gave Graeme Lee’s men the perfect start when he lobbed home the opener with less than 30 seconds gone after he got through one-on-one with the keeper.
It was 2-0 with only four minutes on the clock. Taylor this time turned provider with an incisive ball to release the trialist forward who stabbed a low finish past the keeper.
The trialist then took centre-stage again on the half-hour when he whipped a wonderful free-kick over the wall and into the top corner from fully 30 yards for 3-0.
Moors continued to dominate after the break and there were chances for Rob Ramshaw and Corey McKeown who both drilled efforts just wide of the upright.
However, it was 4-0 on 77 minutes when Reece Staunton slalomed inside from the right before unleashing an unstoppable twenty-yard strike into the top corner of the net.
Junior Mondal then followed up his brilliant goal in Tuesday’s win at Marske United by scoring another stunner, this time getting the ball on to his left foot on the edge of the box before sending a powerful shot into the bottom corner for 5-0.
A productive afternoon for Lee and his squad was only blighted by the loss of Glen Taylor and Dane Burlace who both picked up head injuries which could keep them sidelined for a period.
