Moors boss Graeme Lee has moved to snap up talented teenage defender Callum Luck from Marske United.
The exciting 17-year-old has been on Lee’s radar since making a senior breakthrough at Northallerton last term before he made a move to Marske during the summer.
Comfortable in the centre of defence or at right-back, Luck was a standout performer for The Seasiders when Moors played against Marske in the opening friendly of pre-season.
Now the young defender, who turns 18 on Sunday, has agreed terms on a deal at The Brewery Field and is likely to be involved with the squad for the first time when Moors host York City this weekend.
As part of his move from Marske, an agreement is in place which will allow Luck to continue his development in senior football with a loan switch back to Mount Pleasant.
“I am really pleased we’ve got a deal done to bring Callum to The Brewery Field because I think he has outstanding potential,” Lee told us.
“I have watched him for a little while now and always been impressed, and I thought he was excellent when he played against us for Marske earlier in pre-season.
“For someone so young, he’s never looked fazed playing in senior football and has looked at home in a couple of different positions too, so we’re excited to make him our player.
“I’m really grateful to Marske for their help in getting the deal finalised, and I think him going back there on loan to get some more senior football under his belt will help him develop even further.”
Luck’s move to The Brewery Field is subject to the usual FA and National League clearance.
