Moors have pledged to donate £2 from every ticket sold on the gate for our home fixture against Southport on Tuesday night to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
The gesture is a show of solidarity with our friends at Southport and all those affected by the tragic events that unfolded in the town at the end of last month.
Bebe King (6), Elsie Dot Stancombe (7) and Alice da Silva Aguiar (9) were killed, and ten others were seriously injured in a knife attack at a Taylor Swift themed holiday club on 29th July.
Amidst an outpouring of grief and emotion, numerous donations were made to various causes in order to support those directly affected by the attacks and the local community.
“Like everyone across the country, we were absolutely appalled to hear of the horrific events that took place in Southport,” explained Moors’ Managing Director, Ian Geldard.
“It’s difficult to imagine what everyone in the local community must be going through at the moment, let alone the families directly affected by the tragedy.
“We reached out to our friends at Southport Football Club to offer our support and to find out how best we could do something around our fixture at The Brewery Field.
“Therefore, we’re pleased to be able to donate £2 from every ticket sold on the night to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital which provided extraordinary care for those caught up in the attack.
“We’ll also be holding a collection on the night of the game so that fans can make further donations if they so wish to help us show solidarity with Southport.”
Donations from sales will come from all supporters who buy online in advance or who pay direct on the turnstiles prior to the fixture on Tuesday 20th August (7.45pm kick-off).
