Moors were forced to settle for a point at the end of a hugely competitive National League North encounter with Hereford at The Brewery Field.
Graeme Lee’s side remain unbeaten on their own patch since the start of January but were unable find a way through a resolute Bulls outfit who also carried an attacking threat.
Reece Staunton returned to Lee’s starting eleven after injury, while Will Harris made his first start of the season in attack with Glen Taylor not passed fit.
Left-back Staunton almost made an instant impact when he escaped into space down the left to fire an inviting low ball into the box for the arriving Rob Ramshaw who couldn’t find the finishing touch.
Corey McKeown then galloped into the box down the right after good work from Olly Dyson, but his powerful drive flew straight at Hereford keeper Aaron Chapman.
Montel Gibson had the visitors’ first effort of note when he struck too high from range, before Dyson had a shot blocked at the other end and Michael Ledger almost scored a stunner only to see his volley drop wide of the post.
The away side started the second half on the front foot and the dangerous Yusifu Ceesay wriggled into a shooting position 20 yards out only to fire a low effort wide.
Issac Fletcher drove an effort wide and then saw a looping header held by Chapman as Moors emerged as an attacking force once again, while Gibson nodded wide for Hereford after a good delivery from Sammy Robinson.
Ramshaw almost caught giant Bulls keeper Chapman out with a clipped cross which almost found its way in before he pawed it over the bar, before he then held a low drive from Dyson just afterwards.
There was almost drama at the end when Ramshaw had strong appeals for a penalty turned down when a Hereford defender handled in the area. From the resultant corner, Fletcher swivelled to drive powerfully on goal, but Chapman was well-placed to collect.
