We’re delighted to announce that FA Cup legend Bobby Kerr is to be the Club’s Guest of Honour for Saturday’s Second Round Qualifying tie against Morpeth Town.
Kerr famously lifted the FA Cup for Sunderland at Wembley in 1973 after captaining Bob Stokoe’s side to an odds-defying 1-0 victory over Leeds United.
Moors are set to open up their FA Cup campaign for 2024/25 when they play host to Morpeth at The Brewery Field on Saturday, and we’re thrilled that Kerr will join us.
“We’re honoured that Bobby will be joining us as our guest on Saturday,” said the Club’s Head of Partnerships, Stephen Gilling.
“He rightly has legendary status across our region and embodies the passion and the magic of the FA Cup for generations of football fans in the area.
“As we start our journey in this season’s FA Cup, it will be a thrill to have someone of his standing at the game and let’s hope he brings us a bit of luck you need in any cup run!”
