Spennymoor Town v Morpeth Town
FA Cup Second Round Qualifying
Saturday 14th September 2024, 3pm
The Brewery Field

The Opposition
Morpeth Town arrive at The Brewery Field this weekend on the back of an improved run of form which has pushed them up to 13th in the Northern Premier League table.

Since a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Warrington Rylands three weeks ago, The Highwaymen have won three out of their last four outings.

That run included the 1-0 triumph over Emley in which Luke James scored the only goal to book their place in this weekend’s Second Round Qualifying tie against Moors.

Craig Lynch’s men have also enjoyed an eye-catching 4-1 win at struggling Blyth Spartans and earned three impressive away points last weekend at Ashton United.

Previous Meeting
Morpeth Town were last visitors to The Brewery Field back in the pre-season of 2022/23 when the sides played out a 1-1 draw.

The game was a stand-out feature of the warm-up campaign thanks to a spectacular goal from Moors midfielder Sam Fielding, scored from inside his own half.

Samuel Ross will be the man in the middle for this weekend’s FA Cup tie at The Brewery Field, and he will be assisted by Connor Scott and Calberth Charles. Richard Rowe is our Fourth Official.
