Preview: Warrington Town v Moors

We turn the focus on our midweek action with a full and in-depth preview of our National League North trip to Cantilever Park.

Warrington Town v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Saturday 21st September 2024, 3pm
Cantilever Park

The Opposition
Warrington Town currently lie 19th in the formative National League North table but know that victory this weekend could drag them level with Moors on 11 points.

The Cheshire outfit have drawn their last two league games and are now without a win in five after being knocked out of the FA Cup at home to Radcliffe last weekend.

That defeat prompted a decision to part ways with boss Mark Beesley, and they’ve now placed Assistant Manager Nigel Keogh and Goalkeeper Coach Mark Canning in temporary charge for this weekend’s game.

Despite their frustrating start to the new campaign, The Yellows have picked up two wins on their own patch, including an impressive win over Kidderminster Harriers.

Previous Meeting
Moors’ trip to Warrington Town last season resulted in an enthralling 3-3 draw in which the hosts grabbed a last-minute leveller to snatch a share of the spoils.

There was revenge for that when Warrington came to The Brewery Field in February as goals from Lebrun Mbeka and Reece Staunton ensured a 2-0 victory for Moors.

Match Officials
Matt Scholes will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s trip to Warrington Town, and he will be assisted by Andrew Daniels and Adam Watson. Daniel Sims is the Fourth Official.
