Preview: Moors v Chorley

We turn the focus on the weekend action with a comprehensive preview of Chorley’s Emirates FA Cup visit to The Brewery Field.

Spennymoor Town v Chorley
FA Cup Third Round Qualifying
Saturday 28th September 2024, 3pm
The Brewery Field

The Opposition
Chorley have enjoyed an encouraging opening to the new National League North campaign and arrive at The Brewery Field sitting fourth in the table.

Andy Preece’s side have tasted defeat just once so far this term, when they fell to a surprise loss to Scarborough Athletic on home soil back in August.

The Magpies have won three of their last five league outings and also comfortably negotiated a potentially tricky away tie at Mossley in the FA Cup a fortnight ago.

Previous Meeting
Chorley did the National League North double over Moors last term, triumphing 2-1 at Victory Park in February after a 2-0 success at The Brewery Field on Boxing Day.

Match Officials
Joe Moss will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Chorley, and he will be assisted by Stephen Birkett and Macauley Gibson. Scott Henry is Fourth Official.

Competition Rules
Both sides are permitted to name seven substitutes for Saturday’s FA Cup tie, of which five can be used at any time throughout the 90 minutes.

If the game is all-square at 90 minutes, then the tie will go to a replay which will be played at Victory Park on Tuesday 1st October (7.45pm kick-off).

Tickets
Saturday’s game is not segregated, and fans of both sides are able to buy their tickets from the general sale option in advance online right now.

Tickets will also be available via cash or card on the turnstiles ahead of kick-off which will be open from 12.30 on Saturday.
