Ladies Seek Improvement In Harrogate Test

Moors Ladies are back on the road on Sunday when they make the trip to face Harrogate Town in the NERWFL Premier Division (2pm kick-off).

Brent Smithson’s side have won three of their four games in all competitions so far this season and will approach the trip to North Yorkshire in good spirits.

Harrogate have had a difficult start to 2024/25 and currently lie second bottom in the table having taken just one point from their four league outings to date.

However, Smithson and his players are focused on delivering a stronger overall performance having had to dig deep for results in league and cup in recent weeks.

“Going to Harrogate is always difficult and they do seem to have recruited well during the summer, so I expect them to move up the table,” he told us.

“We have played well in small bursts this season so far, which means the emphasis for us now is to look at ensuring we improve the consistency of our performances.

“The players have all trained well during the week and their hard work is never in question; we have discussed Harrogate’s strengths but also how we want to play, and everyone is looking forward to the challenge.”

Smithson has a strong squad to choose from this weekend. However, he won’t be able to call upon Alex Saunders, Aimee Steele or Amy Elliott who are all unavailable.

Kick-off on Sunday is at 2pm and fans are welcome to attend the fixture, which is to be staged at Rossett Sports Centre in Harrogate.
