Marine v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Tuesday 26th November 2024, 7.45pm
Marine Travel Arena
The Opposition
Marine were promoted to National League North for the first time in the Club’s history after seeing off Macclesfield in a tense Play-Off Final last season.
The Mariners have certainly had a rollercoaster ride in recent years having returned to the Northern Premier League in 2022 and then coming to the attention of the nation when they hosted Spurs in a memorable FA Cup tie.
Result this term have been mixed for Neil Young’s men, though they collected a much-needed three points on Saturday when they saw off Needham Market on home soil.
Marine currently occupy 22nd spot in the table but have their eyes fixed on jumping out of the bottom four if they can secure back-to-back wins for the first time this season on Tuesday.
Previous Meeting
Moors tasted defeat on their last trip to Marine Travel Arena when they were knocked out of the FA Cup at the hands of the Merseyside outfit.
After drawing the original tie 2-2 at The Brewery Field, the then Northern Premier League side prevailed 2-1 in the replay with Glen Taylor’s late goal proving mere consolation for Moors.
