We turn the focus on Tuesday evening’s away trip with a full and in-depth preview of our National League North visit to Southport.
Southport v Spennymoor Town
National League North
Tuesday 28th January 2025, 7.45pm
The Big Help Stadium
The Opposition
Southport currently sit two points and two places below Moors in the National League North table as the teams prepare to go head-to-head at The Big Help Stadium.
Jim Bentley’s men have proved stubborn opposition in recent weeks and have tasted league defeat just once in their last seven outings.
They have now drawn three in a row having been held at home by Chorley at the weekend following creditable draws on the road at Hereford and Chester.
However, just like Moors, The Sandgrounders need to find a way to collect more wins if they are to make an impact further up the table and potentially challenge for a play-off position.
Previous Meeting
Moors collected all three points when Southport made their visit to The Brewery Field back in the opening month of the campaign.
Two goals from Glen Taylor did the damage for Graeme Lee’s men as they ran out 2-0 victors and clinch their fourth successive win over The Sandgrounders.
Referee
Luis Griffiths will be the man in the middle for Tuesday’s fixture at Southport, and he will be assisted by Joe Cunningham and Matthew Langdon. Mark Reeves is the Fourth Official.
Tickets
Moors fans are encouraged to buy their tickets in advance online. However, there will be cash turnstiles in operation ahead of kick-off and card payments taken in Southport’s Ticket Office.
