Moors Ladies will take centre stage at The Brewery Field on Sunday when they return to home soil to host Alnwick Town (2pm kick-off).
Brent Smithson’s side have suffered due to a spate of recent postponements and Sunday’s fixture will be their first outing on home soil since the start of December.
Having tasted defeat during their trip to Ponteland United last weekend, Moors now face another stiff challenge from an Alnwick side who have their own title aspirations.
The Northumberland sit six points behind leaders Ponteland, but they do have three games in hand and will be hoping they can start to narrow that margin on Sunday.
“We were frustrated not to get something last week because we were more than in the game,” said Smithson.
“However, we’re really pleased to be heading back to The Brewery Field on Sunday, and hopefully we can get a good crowd to cheer us on to a positive result.
“There’s been some change in the squad over the last few weeks, but I can never question the attitude of the girls, and I know they’re looking forward to the game.
“Alnwick have had a strong season, and we know we have to show them respect, but we’re at home and we want to try and take the game to them.”
Moors are without Lucy McIntosh who is recovering from a dislocated ankle, while Brooke Newton has now departed the Club to join Thornaby.
However, new signings Kelly Garcia, Mae Rackstraw, Jess Vasey and Sophie White could all be in contention to make their home debuts for Moors.
Tickets are just £3 for adults and completely free for all fans under 12. You can choose to buy in advance online now or pay by cash or card directly on the turnstiles on Sunday.
