Ben Pollock Completes Spennymoor Return

Graeme Lee has significantly strengthened his squad for the run-in after clinching a deal to bring defender Ben Pollock back to The Brewery Field.

Moors have agreed an undisclosed fee with fellow National League North outfit Chester for the dependable centre-back who returns to the Club on a permanent deal.

Pollock spent the 2023/24 campaign with Moors, making 42 appearances in all competitions and his dominant performances made him popular with supporters.

He moved on to Chester in the summer but Moors boss Lee remained an admirer and has moved quickly to bring the 27-year-old back to his native North East on a deal which will run until the end of 2025/26.

“We are absolutely delighted to have Ben back with us at The Brewery Field,” admitted Lee.

“Ben was a hugely important player for us last season, he was such a consistent and reliable performer and he’s a real leader on the pitch too.

“This is a deal that we’ve been trying to get done for a while, but I’m so pleased it’s been pushed through now because we’re approaching a crucial period with lots of games.

“I think we already have some good strength in defensive areas but when there’s an opportunity to bring a player of Ben’s calibre in, I think you have to take it.

“It also shows our intentions over the longer term that Ben has signed a deal until the end of next season which makes it an even better bit of business for us.”

Pollock has taken up the vacant number 8 shirt and is eligible to feature in this evening’s National League North fixture against Alfreton Town at The Brewery Field.
