Graeme Lee has further strengthened his squad for the National League North run-in with the arrival of Nathan Simpson on loan from Middlesbrough.
The talented 21-year-old signed a deal which will see him remain on loan at The Brewery Field from the Championship outfit until the end of the current campaign.
Born in Sunderland, Simpson has been with Boro since he was an Under-14 and his ability has seen him involved in England youth training camps in the past.
Comfortable playing on the wing or as a right-back, the youngster made his debut for Middlesbrough’s Under-21 side during 2020/21, and his development has continued at pace since then.
In 2022/23 he chipped in with five assists in nine games and also hit the net against Liverpool and Everton last term before making his senior debut from the bench against Cardiff City in August 2024.
“We’re really pleased to add Nathan to the group because he’s got a lot of ability and potential,” explained Moors boss Lee.
“Over the next couple of months, we’ve got a lot of games to play so we need to have that little bit of extra strength and Nathan will give us good options.
“He can play in a couple of positions which is a real bonus, and I know he’s hungry to learn and improve so he’s a player we’re looking forward to working with.”
Simpson has been handed the number 22 shirt and will be in contention for a debut when Moors play host to Darlington at The Brewery Field on Tuesday night.
