We turn the attention to Saturday afternoon’s action with a full and in-depth preview of our FA Trophy semi-final trip to The Crown Oil Arena.
Rochdale v Spennymoor Town
FA Trophy Semi-Final
Saturday 5th April 2025, 3pm
The Crown Oil Arena
The Opposition
Rochdale currently sit sixth in the National League table on the back of a point picked up in a 1-1 draw at Woking on Tuesday evening.
However, Jim McNulty’s side have won just one of their last six games, having thrashed Aldershot 4-0 in their previous outing on home soil last weekend.
Dale fans will be hoping that they can cement their place in the play-offs and have a good go at reclaiming their EFL status after two seasons in the fifth tier.
The Lancashire side have defeated Leamington, Stockton Town, Worthing and Altrincham on their way to the last four of the FA Trophy this term.
Previous Meeting
Saturday’s semi-final tie will be the first time the two clubs have ever played each other in competitive action.
Referee
Declan Bourne will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s semi-final, and he will be assisted by Ryan Aldred and Callum Gough. Paul Marsden will be the Fourth Official.
Competition Rules
Both sides are permitted to name seven substitutes for Saturday’s FA Trophy tie, of which five can be used at any time throughout the 90 minutes.
If the game is all-square at 90 minutes, then it will go straight to a penalty shootout without the need for extra time or a replay.
