Moors Ladies Host South Shields On Sunday

Moors Ladies will go head-to-head with local rivals South Shields at The Brewery Field on Sunday (2pm kick-off) in our first-ever Autism & SEND Acceptance fixture.

After their eye-catching 7-1 thrashing of Hull United last time out, Brent Smithson’s side have their sights firmly fixed on finishing inside NERWFL Premier Division’s top four.

Visiting Shields currently occupy fourth spot, but Moors are just two points behind with a game in hand so Sunday’s meeting at The Brewery Field takes on added significance.

“We’re in pretty good form at the moment but this is going to be another big challenge,” admitted Smithson.

“Shields gave us a lot of problems when we went to their place in the first game of the season, and we know they have players who have plenty of ability.

“However, we’ve played well in recent months and found a greater level of consistency with our performances – plus, confidence is really high after a fantastic away win last week.

“With the Men’s Team away from home on Saturday, we’re hoping fans can come and cheer the lasses on at The Brewery Field on Sunday and give us the lift we need to get another important three points.”

Fans can buy tickets in advance online right now or simply pay by cash or card on the turnstiles prior to kick-off. Admission is just £3 or free for all those under 12.
